Through a collaborative process with our client, Continental Automated Buildings Association (CABA), and its Connected Home Research Council, POCO Labs enabled key industry leaders to gain important insights from consumers—leveraging learnings into viable new business opportunities.

  • CABA’s Internet Home Alliance Research Council Concludes ‘Going Green’ Consumer & Home Builder Research

    POCO Labs developed and lead this collaborative research project, Going Green – an Energy Efficiency Study, by bringing together APC, Direct Energy, Honeywell Corporation, Leviton Manufacturing Co., Inc., the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority, Panasonic Home & Environment Company, Procter & Gamble and Trane.  Through their ecosystem approach, POCO Labs drew upon CABA’s Internet Home Alliance Research Council members to examine what "green" means to homeowners, and identify the outcomes that homeowners wish to achieve as they manage the energy resources within their home. The study further dealt with identifying the constraints that homeowners face when trying to make their home more energy efficient and identified the outcomes that builders have in understanding and communicating "green" options to home buyers.

  • Internet Home Alliance Releases Digital Kitchen Study Results

    POCO Labs lead this cross-industry collaboration involving Whirlpool Corporation, Bell Canada, Cisco Systems, Inc., Direct Energy, HP, HomeCrest Cabinetry ,Intel Corporation, Microsoft, The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB), and the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA), the study yielded results that have been used to create the “ideal digital kitchen.”

  • CABA Completes Intelligent Buildings Roadmap

    POCO Labs lead this collaborative research and mapping exercise for Cisco Systems, Direct Energy, ESC Automation/Delta Controls, Johnson Controls, HID Corporation, Honeywell International, Tridium, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratories, Legrand North America, Lutron Electronics Co., Inc., Panduit Corp., Siemens Building Technologies, Tour Andover Controls, Trane, and InfoComm International. The Roadmap's primary objective is to identify strategies for developing intelligent buildings that have the greatest potential to drive broad acceptance. The report examines the challenges facing intelligent building implementation within North America and identifies the market developments and industry initiatives needed to support the wider adoption of these technologies.
